The Final Exam

Our final exam will consist of three parts.

1. Vocabulary: You must study the words in the posting below. You will answer fill-in questions from a list, use the words in complete sentences, and explain their meanings in context. About 20-25 questions.

2. Reading: I will give you short reading examples and you will answer questions based on the reading. This section will be exactly like the exercises in the book. About 10 questions.

3. Journal: I will ask you to write a one paragraph journal entry.

The test should take you one to one and a half hours to complete.

Journal Topic #2 - Due In Class Wednesday, January 20th

Please write one good paragraph in which you name and explain one big difference that you found between living in your home country and the U.S.

Note Do NOT use "language" or"culture." Think of a specific difference and write it with an example or story.

You did a good job on the first journal, so try to do the same on this one!

Journal For Thursday, January 14: "Studying Abroad"

A journal entry in our class will be one good paragraph answering a question.

Please type and print your journals or write them neatly in ink on good paper.

Our first journal entry will answer the following question, which is based on the reading "The Benefits of Studying Abroad."

You are now studying abroad from your native country. Please name and explain two differences between studying at school in your home country and studying in the U.S.

Journals should be at least 6 sentences. You will get extra credit if you use 3 or more vocabulary words from the first quiz.

All journals must be handed in at the end of class.
